As part of its operational deployment to Southeast Asia, Indian Naval Ships Delhi, Shakti and Kiltan of the Eastern Fleet, under the command of Rear Admiral Susheel Menon, arrived at Tien Sa Port, Da Nang, Vietnam, on 24 July 2025. The ships were accorded a ceremonial welcome by the Vietnam People’s Navy and the local People’s Committee, showcasing the growing warmth in bilateral relations.

During the visit, Rear Admiral Menon will hold meetings with senior officials of Military Region 5, Vietnam People’s Army, Da Nang People’s Committee, and Naval Region 3 of the Vietnam People’s Navy. The engagements aim to deepen maritime security cooperation and strengthen defence collaboration.

Personnel from both navies will participate in professional interactions, operational planning discussions, cultural outreach programmes, sports events, and guided ship tours to enhance interoperability and mutual understanding.

The visit aligns with India’s ‘MAHASAGAR’ vision and reaffirms the Indian Navy’s commitment to being a reliable partner in promoting a rules-based, inclusive maritime order in the Indo-Pacific.
