NIBE Group Signs MoU with Naval Group, France

NIBE Group and Naval Group of France have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish a formal framework for cooperation in technological areas linked to India’s naval programmes. The agreement covers shipbuilding, defence platforms and autonomous systems, with a focus on technologies intended for modern naval applications.

The collaboration includes underwater drones, mine countermeasure vessels, underwater submarine systems and related technologies. It also extends to naval weapon-launching systems and their maintenance, bringing together areas of expertise identified by both companies under the new cooperation framework.

Under the agreement, the companies will work on underwater drones and their integration aboard submarines. They will also cooperate on future weapon-ready modular launching systems, mine countermeasure systems and associated engineering capabilities. These areas form part of the partners’ stated effort to support the development of advanced solutions for naval programmes.

The MoU reflects a joint commitment by NIBE Group and Naval Group to strengthen self-reliance in India’s naval sector. The companies said their cooperation would support the country’s Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative by creating a framework for work in specialised naval technologies and systems.
