Paras Defence to Execute Rs. 265.9 mn DRDO Hyperspectral Mission Order

Paras Defence and Space Technologies has received an order valued at approximately Rs. 265.9 mn, including taxes, from the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Ministry of Defence. The company disclosed the order in a regulatory filing dated September 28, 2026, and will serve as the lead system integrator for the project.

Under the order, Paras Defence and Space Technologies will undertake the complete design, analysis, fabrication, manufacturing and assembly of the optics and opto-mechanical unit for a hyperspectral mission. The payload is intended to qualify as a space-borne system with potential applications in Earth observation.

The order has been awarded by a domestic government entity and is scheduled for completion on or before September 27, 2027. The project’s stated value includes applicable taxes, while the performance security amount is Rs. 7.98 mn.

The company’s responsibilities cover the development and integration of the specified optical and opto-mechanical systems. The hyperspectral payload is expected to support Earth observation applications, although the filing did not provide further details on the mission’s launch schedule, deployment platform or end-user requirements.

Paras Defence and Space Technologies stated that neither its promoter group nor its group companies have any interest in the entity awarding the order. The company also confirmed that the contract does not fall within related-party transactions. The disclosure was made under the listing regulations governing material information released by listed companies.
