PM Modi Inaugurates Advanced Night Vision Factory In Andhra
The facility is part of multiple development projects worth Rs 134.3 billion, for which the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone, inaugurated, and dedicated to the nation during his visit to Kurnool.
Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister said the Advanced Night Vision Factory would significantly enhance India’s capability to manufacture night vision equipment, missile sensors, and drone guard systems, thereby elevating the nation’s defence export potential.
He added that the world had already witnessed the success of indigenous weapon systems during Operation Sindoor, underscoring India’s growing technological strength and production capabilities.
The Prime Minister also expressed satisfaction that the Government of Andhra Pradesh has resolved to develop Kurnool as India’s drone hub. He emphasised that the drone industry would catalyse the growth of new technology-driven sectors across Andhra Pradesh, generating high-skilled employment and innovation opportunities.
Highlighting the role of drones in Operation Sindoor, Modi said that Kurnool will emerge as a national powerhouse in drone manufacturing and applications in the years to come.
The inauguration of the facility marks another crucial step in advancing India’s defence manufacturing ecosystem, reinforcing the government’s commitment to achieving technological self-sufficiency and export competitiveness in critical defence equipment.
