Defence Minister Rajnath Singh recently visited the ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems shipyard in Germany, where he inspected the Type 212 submarine and reviewed its capabilities with company officials. The visit formed part of his three-day official trip to Germany.
During the visit, India and Germany signed the Defence Industrial Cooperation Roadmap and an Implementing Arrangement for cooperation in UN Peacekeeping Training. The agreements are aimed at expanding joint training, institutional collaboration, capacity building and defence capability development.
Rajnath Singh also held bilateral talks with German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius in Berlin. Both sides reviewed security cooperation, co-development and co-production opportunities, with a focus on niche technologies and stronger military engagement under the bilateral strategic partnership.
