RRP Defense Limited and Israel-based Meprolight Ltd., a global leader in electro-optics, night-vision and weapon-sight systems, have announced a strategic collaboration to bring next-generation defence technologies to the Indian market. The agreement aims to strengthen India’s domestic defence manufacturing capabilities under the Government’s Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives.

Under the partnership, RRP Defense and Meprolight will jointly undertake the distribution, assembly, technology integration and phased localisation of Meprolight’s advanced product portfolio in India. The collaboration includes:

Joint sales and distribution of Meprolight systems for India’s military and law-enforcement agencies

Co-development of pricing, commercial strategy and payment terms

Transfer of technology by Meprolight to support assembly, testing and integration at RRP Defense’s Mahape facility

A long-term plan for local manufacturing of selected electro-optic systems using indigenous components through RRP Electronics and other ecosystem partners

RRP Defense Chairman Rajendra Chodankar said the partnership reflects India’s expanding capabilities in precision defence manufacturing. “Integrating world-class electro-optic technology into our Mahape facility enables us to supply the Indian Armed Forces with domestically assembled, battle-tested solutions. Together with Meprolight, we are strengthening India’s defence ecosystem and advancing our role in the global supply chain.”

The collaboration is expected to accelerate access to high-performance weapon sights and electro-optic equipment for Indian forces, while supporting the country’s broader push towards technological self-reliance in defence.
