Andhra Pradesh plans AI monitoring for 1.05 million streetlights

Andhra Pradesh will bring around 1.05 million streetlights across 123 Urban Local Bodies under an AI-enabled monitoring and management system. Energy Efficiency Services Limited will implement the programme with the state’s municipal administration department. The first phase will cover about 750,000 lights, followed by another 300,000. Individual monitoring controllers will enable remote switching, fault detection, energy tracking, GIS-based asset mapping and predictive maintenance, allowing municipalities to improve network visibility, reduce manual inspections and strengthen streetlighting operations.
