IPSCDL Completes Final Surfacing of Central Panaji Roads

Imagine Panaji Smart City Development Limited (IPSCDL) has completed the final layer of Bituminous Concrete surfacing for all three phases of the Central Panaji road redevelopment project, covering 6,850 metres. The project, executed under the Smart City Mission, included Dense Bituminous Macadam works and rectifications completed without major road closures.

Phase one covered 735 metres, including MG Road and SV Road near Caculo Island and Don Bosco. Phase two added 1,024 metres across MG Road, TB Cunha Road, and 18 June Road. Phase three saw 1,415 metres completed from UCO Bank to Don Bosco, INOX, and nearby internal lanes.

From April to May, the next phase includes traffic signage and road painting to improve safety and management. Landscaping is scheduled for June, using climate-resilient techniques to promote long-term ecological benefits.

St. Inez Road, with 3,000 metres of concrete work, is nearing completion. The successful connection of the sewer line to the Sewage Treatment Plant has enabled final road work. Roads near Café Bhonsle Square have also reopened, easing traffic congestion.

IPSCDL CEO Sanjit Rodrigues confirmed that the project remains on track, with focus now on sustainable delivery and urban resilience.
