The New Delhi Municipal Council has approved major proposals across energy, utilities, sanitation, flood management, and culture to advance its Smart City agenda. These include procuring 120 MW of renewable energy from NHPC at `4.62/unit, installing 15,000+ smart water meters, and upgrading electricity meters. `70.44 crore was sanctioned for desilting Sunehari nullah, and `5.2 crore for jetting machines. Funds were also cleared for mobile sanitation units and arts promotion. One per cent of NDMC’s annual budget will support cultural activities. All initiatives align with the government’s “Viksit Bharat@2047” vision for sustainable urban governance.
