PMC plans smart-design roads in merged villages

Pune Municipal Corporation plans to develop at least one smart-design road in every village merged with the civic body, based on the Aundh DP Road redevelopment model. The Aundh project, developed under the Smart Cities Mission, includes continuous footpaths, pedestrian crossings, cycling infrastructure, organised parking and underground utility provisions. Recognised by the Indian Roads Congress, the model will guide future road redevelopment with a focus on accessibility, durability, better planning and improved urban mobility across merged village areas.
