CCI Worldwide Logistics, the international freight forwarding arm of the CCI Group, has launched ‘Trans Africa’—a technology-led logistics platform aimed at streamlining cross-border trade across Africa. The company is investing Rs 1.06 billion in the initiative, targeting an annual freight volume of 5,000 TEUs by air and sea, with an estimated 15 per cent return on investment.
The service is being rolled out in key markets such as Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, Ghana, and Egypt, with planned expansion into Francophone West Africa, Central Africa, and landlocked nations including Uganda and Zambia.
‘Trans Africa’ aims to address longstanding challenges in African trade such as poor infrastructure, complex customs procedures, high costs, and low shipment visibility. The platform offers end-to-end freight management, AI-powered route optimisation, digital customs clearance, and real-time tracking. It also integrates with national customs systems and provides unified documentation and compliance tools.
Targeting sectors such as pulses, pharmaceuticals, auto spares, and automobiles, the platform supports door-to-door delivery across South, West, and East Africa.
“This is more than just a logistics service—it’s a catalyst for intra-African trade,” said Satish Singh, Vice President – P&L, CCI Worldwide Logistics. “With Trans Africa, we’re creating a digitally connected freight ecosystem that enables growth, trust, and transparency across borders.”
CCI’s flexible revenue model includes per-shipment fees and value-added services such as cargo insurance, warehousing, and trade finance referrals. The platform’s mobile-first design ensures accessibility even in low-bandwidth regions, making it inclusive for diverse stakeholders in the African logistics network.
