India’s Industrial Warehousing Demand Hits Record 26.5 Million sq ft

India’s industrial and warehousing sector reached a historic high in demand, with 26.5 million sq ft of space leased during the first nine months of 2025, according to Colliers. The figure represents a 22 per cent year-on-year increase, reflecting robust expansion across manufacturing, third-party logistics (3PL), and e-commerce sectors.

Bengaluru, Delhi-NCR, and Pune accounted for over 60% of the total leasing, while Chennai and Hyderabad also recorded strong momentum. Rising Grade A warehousing development and improved multimodal connectivity continued to attract occupiers seeking operational efficiency and scalability.

The 3PL segment maintained its leading share, followed by manufacturing and retail. Developers are focusing on sustainability and automation, with several facilities integrating renewable energy and digital warehouse management systems.

Colliers noted that the industrial and warehousing market is expected to surpass 35 million sq ft in total leasing by the end of 2025, underscoring India’s growing position as a global supply chain hub.
