UPSIDA Approves Eight New Logistics And Warehousing Projects
The newly approved projects comprise five silos, two warehousing units and one logistics project to be set up in districts including Unnao, Auraiya, Balrampur, Shravasti, Sultanpur, Lucknow, Gautam Buddha Nagar and Hapur. The projects are planned on nearly 110 acres and are expected to strengthen storage and distribution links across the state. The authority indicated that modern facilities will support safer handling of foodgrains and reduce post?harvest losses.
With the latest approvals, the authority has now cleared a total of 61 projects under the Warehousing and Logistics Policy?2022 and the Program Implementation Plan policy. Those projects are to be developed over nearly 810 acres with a proposed investment exceeding Rs 129,000 mn. The authority said the combined programme will accelerate the development of multi?modal logistics hubs, warehouse clusters and modern distribution centres.
The upgrades are expected to provide better storage and logistics facilities to farmers, enhance the safe storage capacity for foodgrains and improve supply chain resilience. Officials noted that improved infrastructure should support value chains for agricultural produce and reduce logistical bottlenecks for industry. The authority highlighted that the incentives under the policy aim to attract private capital and speed the delivery of these projects.
