The Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority has approved eight new warehousing and logistics projects with a proposed investment of around Rs eight billion (bn), reinforcing momentum behind the state government’s drive to strengthen supply chain infrastructure. The approvals form part of a sustained effort to attract private investment into logistics and storage under the Uttar Pradesh Warehousing and Logistics Policy-2022 and are intended to further boost investor confidence in the state’s logistics ecosystem.

The newly cleared projects comprise five silos, two warehousing units and one logistics project, to be developed across Unnao, Auraiya, Balrampur, Shravasti, Sultanpur, Lucknow, Gautam Buddha Nagar and Hapur and spanning approximately 110 acres. The developments are expected to bolster both agricultural and industrial supply chains by improving storage and handling capacity in key districts.

With the latest clearances UPSIDA has now approved a total of 61 projects under the Warehousing and Logistics Policy-2022 and the PIP policy, covering nearly 810 acres and representing a cumulative proposed investment of Rs 129 billion (bn). Officials said the projects will expand safe storage capacity for food grains, improve logistics efficiency for farmers and industries, and support the development of multi-modal logistics hubs, warehouse clusters and modern distribution centres while generating substantial employment across regions.

The expansion aligns with the broader economic vision of Yogi Adityanath as Uttar Pradesh seeks to position itself as a one trillion dollar economy, and it reflects the state government’s prioritisation of integrated logistics infrastructure, including cold chains, silos and distribution networks. Parallel reforms aimed at improving ease of doing business are expected to sustain investor interest and accelerate project execution across the state.
