CM Saini Sets Three-Month Target For Gurugram Global City
The Global City is being developed over 1,000 acres for Rs 10 billion (Rs 10 bn) and has recorded 80 per cent physical progress, with remaining work planned for completion by December. Officials described the project as a mixed land use township intended to provide modern infrastructure and to create employment opportunities for young people. Planned amenities include integrated urban services and public facilities.
The development is conceived as a smart, well planned urban centre with educational and healthcare institutions, malls, theatres, luxury hotels, community centres and marriage venues. A dedicated water treatment plant and a green lake are included, and the project will be connected to the Dwarka Expressway to improve access. The Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited is the nodal agency managing construction.
Other projects include the Integrated Multi Modal Logistics Hub at Nangal Chaudhary, where electricity, irrigation, roads, an external rail siding and the internal rail yard are complete and an in motion weighbridge is due within six months. The Integrated Manufacturing Cluster in Hisar is receiving infrastructure for a Skill Development Centre, Convention Centre, Exhibition Hall, Logistics Park and a Multi Speciality Hospital alongside facilities for defence, aerospace, agro-food processing and textile industries.
