The Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DDWS) under the Ministry of Jal Shakti convened a coordination meeting with offices located in the CGO Complex, New Delhi, as part of Special Campaign 5.0 aimed at creating a cleaner and better-managed workplace.
Chairing the meeting, Shri Ashok K. K. Meena, Secretary, DDWS, called on all departments to use the campaign period to give the CGO Complex a festive makeover by clearing legacy waste, disposing of obsolete materials, and improving general upkeep, ensuring the complex “shines by Diwali.”
He emphasised that every small effort contributes to building a healthier and more efficient working environment. All offices were instructed to upload before-and-after photographs of their cleanliness activities on the Special Campaign portal to record measurable progress and inspire others.
The meeting also recommended the formation of a committee for traffic management within the CGO Complex to ensure smooth movement and enhance workplace safety. Departments were further advised to issue public notices for the timely disposal of old vehicles and scrap materials to maintain a clean and organised environment.
The initiative forms part of the #SpecialCampaign5.0 objectives, which aim to institutionalise cleanliness, efficient space management, and workplace hygiene across all government offices. The campaign also reflects the government’s broader vision of fostering accountability, sustainability, and a sense of civic pride within public institutions.
