Jugsalai Nagar Parishad (JNP) launched an annual Solid and Plastic Waste Management calendar at its inaugural board meeting chaired by Nausheen Khan. The meeting was attended by MLA Mangal Kalindi and Executive Officer Sandeep Paswan who jointly released the calendar intended to bolster environmental awareness. The event took place at the Parishad auditorium and formed part of the new local body's early governance agenda.

The board meeting concentrated on pressing civic priorities including urban transport, sanitation, drinking water and electricity. Members considered institutional capacity building measures and approved several development schemes under the 15th Finance Commission. Executive Officer Paswan welcomed ward councillors and highlighted the need for collective commitment to improving local infrastructure.

19 ward councillors attended and submitted proposals aimed at enhancing service delivery and urban governance. The leadership emphasised that coordinated action between elected representatives and officials will be essential to address Jugsalai's urban challenges and to ensure efficient implementation of civic amenities.

The waste management calendar is designed to provide a structured schedule for segregation and collection of solid and plastic waste and to guide public participation in cleanliness drives. Officials expect the calendar to support sustained behaviour change by clarifying roles for neighbourhood committees and sanitation staff. The document also forms a reference for planning resources and scheduling awareness campaigns across wards.

Follow up actions will include ward level implementation plans, monitoring mechanisms and periodic reviews by the Parishad to assess progress. The board signalled intent to align forthcoming activities with approved schemes and to prioritise interventions that deliver immediate improvements in service delivery. Continued engagement with residents and elected representatives was noted as central to the Parishad's strategy.
