L&T Wins Water Projects in Rajasthan Worth Over Rs 1 Billion

Larsen & Toubro’s Water & Effluent Treatment (WET) business has secured major engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) orders from the Public Health Engineering Department of Rajasthan, aimed at improving water access and infrastructure across rural areas of the state.
The largest order is for the Rajasthan Rural Water Supply and Fluorosis Mitigation Project – Phase II, Package-1, which includes the supply and installation of 5,251 km of transmission and distribution pipelines, construction of 38 ground-level reservoirs with a combined capacity of 40 million litres (ML), 20 pump houses, and 132 overhead service reservoirs totalling 25 ML. The project will serve 285 villages and the towns of Surajgarh and Udaipurwati in Jhunjhunu district.
In addition, L&T has also been awarded a contract for the rehabilitation and strengthening of the water supply system in the Kekri-Sarwar sector of Ajmer district, which involves the laying of 43 km of pipelines.
Both projects also include electromechanical, instrumentation, automation, and SCADA works, along with a one-year defect liability period and 10 years of operations and maintenance.
These orders are a reaffirmation of L&T’s capabilities in executing large-scale water infrastructure projects. With these new contracts, L&T has now delivered 24 water supply projects in Rajasthan alone, underlining its pivotal role in enhancing the state’s rural water supply network.
