SPML Infra wins Rs 10.73 billion Indore water project

SPML Infra Limited, India’s leading water infrastructure developer, has secured a prestigious Rs 10.73 billion (inclusive of GST) contract from Indore Municipal Corporation for the augmentation of the city’s water supply system under the AMRUT 2.0 programme. The project also includes a comprehensive 10-year operation and maintenance (O&M) contract.
Project Scope and Significance
The landmark initiative will strengthen Indore’s water infrastructure, ensuring reliable access to safe drinking water for over 2 million residents. Key components include:
- Intake and Raw Water Pumping: Construction of a modern 1,650 MLD intake system with a raw water pump house.
- Water Treatment Plant: A 400 MLD treatment facility with advanced technology to meet stringent quality standards.
- Pumping and Transmission: Development of clear water booster pumping stations, mains, and 22 km of transmission pipelines ranging from 1,200 mm to 2,337 mm in diameter.
- Power Infrastructure: Establishment of an integrated 132/33 kV electric substation to support operations.
- Long-Term Operations: A 10-year O&M contract with structured escalation provisions to ensure sustainable system performance.
The EPC portion of the project is scheduled for completion within 30 months, inclusive of monsoon seasons.
