Welspun Wins Rs 31.45 Billion Mumbai Water Project
The order, issued by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), involves the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of a 910 million litres per day (MLD) water treatment plant at Panjrapur.
The project will be executed on a design–build–operate–maintain (DBOM) basis, with construction to be completed within 48 months, followed by 15 years of comprehensive operation and maintenance.
The total contract value, including GST, is estimated at Rs 31.45 billion, covering operation, maintenance, and asset replacement during the concession period.
Welspun Enterprises will execute the project in partnership with Veolia Water Technologies, Malaysia, leveraging advanced water treatment and automation systems to enhance Mumbai’s potable water supply infrastructure.
The initiative is expected to play a vital role in improving urban water management, quality, and sustainability, marking one of Mumbai’s largest public utility projects in recent years.
