30 MW hydro project installations begins in Tripura

Prof Dr Manik Saha, Chief Minister, Tripura, announced that Tripura Power Generation (TPGL) had commenced the process of installing 30-megawatt capacity small hydropower plants in various locations across the state. He made this declaration while inaugurating a workshop titled "Energy Transition of Tripura" at Hotel Polo Tower on the same day.

Inaugurating the workshop, which was organised by the Department of Power and the Asian Development Bank, the Chief Minister emphasised the global significance of renewable energy in fostering a clean environment and conserving resources for future generations. He highlighted that our country stood at the forefront of developing nations in raising socio-economic standards while ensuring environmental cleanliness. He mentioned that the nation gave paramount importance to the promotion and expansion of renewable energy. According to him, renewable energy had become the most crucial factor and hope for preserving the pristine environment and plant resources for future generations. Dr Saha also pointed out that Modi had emphasised renewable energy at the G20 summit in Delhi recently.
