A delightful transformation is underway at railway stations within the Bengaluru Division, as they are adorned with sculptures, paintings, murals, and art pieces, breathing new life into their previously unadorned walls. This artistic endeavor has been made possible through an MoU signed between the Railways and Hubballi-based startup Artwaley, entrusted with the task of beautifying the stations.
Kusuma Hariprasad, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, shared that they have entered a five-year agreement with Art Street International Solutions Pvt Ltd, operating as Artwaley, to enhance the travel experience of commuters. She elaborated that this initiative falls under the umbrella of the division's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, with the first phase of beautification focusing on KSR Bengaluru, Yelahanka, and Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal.
A stroll around KSR Station reveals a plethora of eye-catching installations. At the main entry of KR Station, a statue of Mahatma Gandhi and a chakra have been erected, while in front of an artificial waterfall, a 'Make in India' lion, ingeniously crafted from scrap materials, stands proudly. Adding to the charm, a model train has also made its appearance in the concourse area.
The beautification project aims to not only enhance the aesthetics of these railway stations but also provide a more inviting and visually appealing environment for the benefit of passengers and visitors. This initiative exemplifies the intersection of art and public spaces, fostering a richer travel experience for all.
