BHEL seeks bids for 300 MW floating solar project in Odisha

01 Aug 2023

Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) has announced that they are inviting bids for the design, supply, and assembly of a floating system, along with the necessary anchoring and mooring components. This is for a 300 MW floating solar power project situated at the Rengali Reservoir in Angul district, Odisha.

It has been stated that the final date for the submission of bids will be September 4, 2023. Furthermore, it has been mentioned that the bids will be opened on the same day.

The ownership of the Rengali reservoir rests with the Water Resources Department of the Odisha Government. This reservoir is positioned in an area that is linked to National Highway NH55 through State Highway SH63 (at Bhudapal) in Angul district.

All bidders have been given a directive that they must offer a five-year operation and maintenance (O&M) service. This will be followed by an additional five-year annual maintenance contract once the O&M period is completed.

In the initial year of the O&M period, the minimum assured annual generation at the metering point is specified to be 558 million units (MUs).

It is to be noted that the submission of an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) is not a requirement for this tender.

The bidders who achieve success in this process are obligated to provide a performance bank guarantee (PBG). This PBG should be equivalent to 3% of the total contract amount.

All bidders are being encouraged to visit the project site. The purpose of this visit is to gather comprehensive information regarding the existing conditions both within and around the project premises.

As a part of this, the bidders should ensure that they understand all the legal, obligatory, and mandatory requirements that have been outlined by different authorities. This understanding should be in place before the bidders start the preparation and submission of their proposal.
