CBI detains Power Grid Corporation officials

The executive director of the Power Grid Corporation and five Tata Projects office holders were detained by the CBI on Thursday in connection with a case of bribery. In conjunction with the case, the agency is now conducting search operations at 11 locations across the nation.

According to sources, certain Tata Projects workers were discovered giving B S Jha, the executive director of Power Grid Corporation, bribes. The CBI found Rs 93 lakh during searches at Jha's home. Desraj Pathak, executive vice president, and R. S. Singh, assistant vice president, are two of the Tata Projects employees detained. According to sources, the company has won bids for Power Grid Corporation's Comprehensive Scheme for Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim and the North Eastern Region Power System Improvement Project (NERPSIP).
