The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has received approval for its annual budget of Rs 8,811 crore for the financial year 2024-25, focusing on the development of civic infrastructure and sports facilities.

Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena, who is also the chairperson of the DDA, emphasized the budget's role in enhancing housing, aesthetic landscape, and heritage preservation in Delhi.

The budget, financed by projected revenues of Rs 9,182 crore, marks a significant increase from the previous year. The DDA's capital expenditure constitutes about 61% of the annual allocations, reflecting a strong focus on development.

The budget includes substantial investments in sports complexes, multi-level car parking, and the Delhi Metro's Phase-IV projects. Additionally, the 'Diwali Special Housing Scheme' has contributed to a surplus in the DDA's general development account.

The budget also allocates funds for land development, infrastructure in sub-cities like Narela, Dwarka, and Rohini, and public space development along the Yamuna riverfront.
