Delhi Metro Phase IV: Janakpuri West to Krishna Park Section to Open by July 2024, Official Confirms

Officials have confirmed that the first section of Delhi Metro Phase IV, connecting Janakpuri West to Krishna Park, is set to open by July 2024. The latest addition to the expansive Delhi Metro network aims to improve connectivity and ease transportation for commuters in the capital city.

This section of Phase IV spans a distance of approximately 2.8 kilometers and is part of the overall 28.92-kilometer Janakpuri West to R.K. Ashram Marg corridor. The corridor will have a total of 25 stations, with Janakpuri West serving as an interchange for the existing Blue Line and the upcoming Magenta Line.

Once operational, the Janakpuri West to Krishna Park section is expected to benefit a large number of residents in the area, providing quicker and more efficient transportation options. With the expansion of the metro network, commuters will experience reduced travel time and improved connectivity, enhancing their overall commuting experience.

In addition to the Janakpuri West to Krishna Park section, Phase IV of the Delhi Metro project comprises six other corridors: R.K. Ashram Marg to Janakpuri West, Aerocity to Tughlakabad, Maujpur to Mukundpur, Lajpat Nagar to Saket G-Block, Mukundpur to Shiv Vihar, and Tughlakabad to Terminal-1 IGI Airport. These corridors are strategically planned to cater to the increasing travel demand in various parts of the city.

The expansion of the Delhi Metro network is expected to have numerous benefits, including reduced congestion on roads, lower pollution levels, and enhanced connectivity for commuters.
