Electrification of 22 trains in MP, Chhattisgarh begins on August 31

01 Aug 2023

In a recent development that is set to have an impact on several states, including Madhya Pradesh (MP) and Chhattisgarh (CG), it has been announced by the South East Central Railway (SECR) that the services of 22 trains will be cancelled from August 31 to September 8. The reason cited for these cancellations is the on-going electrification work of the third railway line at Badhwabara railway station, situated in the Shahdol-Rupond section of the Bilaspur railway division.

The primary objective of this crucial electrification project is to enhance the overall rail infrastructure, and the responsibility of executing it falls upon Badhwabara railway station. The electrification work is scheduled to take place in the Shahdol-Rupond section, which is under the jurisdiction of the Bilaspur Railway Division, and is planned to occur from September 2 to 8. This project carries the potential to bring about improvements in train punctuality and speed once it is concluded.
