01 Sep 2023

A free double-decker green bus will be provided to senior citizens in Nagpur city, offering complimentary trips to religious and tourist destinations. On September 16, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari will officially inaugurate this bus, made available through the CSR initiative of Ashok Ley-Land to the Jyestha Nagrik Pratishthan.

The double-decker green bus will serve as a means of free transportation for senior citizens to various religious and tourist spots. Currently, the Pratishthan operates a green bus from Olectra that has been serving senior citizens for the past five years, enabling thousands of them to enjoy cost-free journeys to places such as Shegaon, Mahur, Kalamb, Ambhora, Adasa, Dhapewada, and more.

This Ashok Leyland Company double-decker green bus is equipped with air conditioning and provides seating for up to 65 passengers. It is powered by an advanced lithium-ion battery, allowing it to travel up to 250 km on a single charge, taking one and a half to three hours. The bus has dimensions of 4.75 meters in height, 9.8 meters in length, and 2.6 meters in width.
