Gadkari proposes Skybus project

The Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, has put forth two significant proposals for the city of Amritsar during a recent discussion with Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. Gadkari's vision encompasses the introduction of a Skybus project, featuring a cable-based transportation system within the holy city, with a particular focus on the congested walled city surrounding the Golden Temple. This initiative is aimed at alleviating traffic gridlocks, which often arise due to the city's narrow topography.

In addition to the Skybus project, another notable proposal involves the establishment of a dedicated museum that would showcase the rich Sikh heritage and culture, as well as the illustrious history of the Golden Temple. This museum is envisioned to be situated adjacent to the proposed Beas river bridge in Amritsar district, where visitors would have the unique opportunity to ascend via a glass lift.

Minister Gadkari has urged Chief Minister Mann to collaborate on the detailed planning and execution of these projects, emphasizing that the Ministry stands ready to provide support and cooperation.

On a related note, Chief Minister Mann has expressed his optimism regarding the Delhi-Katra expressway, characterizing it as a harbinger of a new era marked by unprecedented development and prosperity in the state. This expressway is expected to bring about transformative changes and opportunities for the region.
