Infraprime Logistics Technology to set up its own trucks brand

India is set to have lithium-ion battery trucks. Infraprime Logistics Technologies (IPLTech), which has been carrying freight for Tata Steel and Bhushan Steel, will produce its own trucks brand—Rhino.

CEO of IPLTech, Subodh Yadav, told the media that the company would initially produce 100 trucks at its facility in Faridabad and further increase its size to 600 trucks a month from a leased facility in Manesar.

He said that in 2020, IPLTech took ten old Tata Signa trucks and replaced its engine with Li-ion batteries. The number of trucks increased to 50 in a few months, and currently, the company has 200 trucks.

He added that the company was saving Rs 15 per km, compared to diesel trucks. The savings have now increased to Rs 35 per km. Currently, the company has an order book of 2,000 trucks.
