The Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port has announced the invitation for e-tenders regarding the allocation of land (vacant space) at Millennium Park-III, situated on Strand Road, for lease spanning 30 years for commercial purposes, with the option of paying annual rent or upfront. As per Kolkata Port sources, the land, measuring approximately 3413 sqm, is designated for commercial activities. The approved activities or uses for development on the leased plots include a restaurant/bar/caf?, sports club, banquet hall, art gallery, open-air movie theatre, skating rink/outdoor games, jacuzzi, souvenir shop, food kiosks, boutique shops, auditorium, and book shop. However, it has been specified that the lessee must develop a multilevel car parking on the zone measuring 717 sqm as a mandatory requirement.

Considering the riverfront location of the land, the port authorities have established terms and conditions to ensure zero pollution. The constructions carried out by the lessee must comply with the regulations outlined in the "West Bengal Trees (Protection and Conservation in Non-forest areas) Rules, 2007" of the West Bengal Forest Department. It has also been clarified that only temporary constructions will be allowed, adhering to the KMC Building rules of 2009 or any other relevant statutory regulations applicable at that time. Additionally, to prevent pollution in the River Ganga, the lessee is obligated to conduct "sustainable and climate-conscious operations" and maintain the cleanliness of the premises.
