Madhya Pradesh Adopts Gujarat Model for Transport
01 Mar 2024
Madhya Pradesh's Minister for Transport and School Education, Uday Pratap Singh, has revealed plans to implement the acclaimed Gujarat model in the state's transport department. Singh emphasized the adoption of digitization to combat illegal recovery at check posts across Madhya Pradesh.
"Checkposts in Madhya Pradesh will transition to automation," announced Singh, underscoring the government's commitment to transparency. He pledged swift implementation post Lok Sabha elections, aiming to make the state's check posts paperless.
Citing numerous complaints at check posts, Singh labeled the move a new initiative to address grievances effectively. In alignment, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav directed district collectors to promptly survey crop damage caused by hailstorms and excessive rain.
Yadav stressed the importance of serious surveys to determine relief amounts for affected farmers, urging ministers, MPs, and MLAs to oversee the process. These directives emerged during a cabinet meeting in Bhopal.
Concurrently, the Madhya Pradesh government greenlit over Rs 103.73 billion for diverse irrigation projects across the state. The unanimous approval, chaired by Chief Minister Yadav, includes allocations for projects in Mandsaur, Rajgarh, Sidhi, Seoni, and Balaghat districts.
