MCB gives clean chit to its C&D waste management firm

Municipal Corporation Gurugram (MCG) has given a clean chit to its construction and demolition (C&D) waste management firm, which earlier violated the agreement rules allegedly by subletting its work to a third party.

The municipal corporation re-examined the previous report of a former joint commissioner and said that he concluded based on irrelevant facts and grounds.

According to the report, the C&D waste management firm has sublet 100% of its work to a third party company in a breach of the concession agreement signed on 1 December 2016. However, the civic body found that the C&D waste management firm sublet only a part of the collection and transportation (CTD) service, allowed in the agreement.

Executive engineer of MCG, Sunder Sheoran, told the media that the civic body re-examined the inquiry report and found that the concessionaire only sublet a part of the assigned work, which is allowed in the agreement. The corporation has disposed of the complaint against the waste management firm.

According to the previous inquiry report, the C&D concessionaire in Basai mentioned the names of management firms and two other companies, which proves collusion between the third party firm.

According to an official, the concessionaire can sublet a part of its work to one, two, or more than two companies, but it should not violate the rules of the agreement.

It also said that the concessionaire conspired with both the companies, causing huge financial losses to MCG.
