MP Invites Bids for 670 MW Solar Projects Under KUSUM

01 Oct 2023

The Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam (MPUVNL) has initiated the bidding process for the establishment of 670 megawatts (MW) grid-connected solar power projects, as part of Component C of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM KUSUM) program. These projects will play a crucial role in harnessing renewable energy sources in the state of Madhya Pradesh. The generated power will be supplied to the Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company (MPPMCL).

Interested renewable power generators (RPGs) have until October 10, 2023, to submit their bids, with the bid opening scheduled for November 3. The comprehensive scope of work encompasses the design, engineering, supply, construction, erection, testing, commissioning, and construction of bays and related switchgear at the substation.

Additionally, successful bidders will be responsible for providing comprehensive operation and maintenance services throughout the power purchase agreement (PPA) period, which spans 25 years. To participate, bidders are required to submit a bid security of 100,000 (approximately $1,201) per MW of the quoted capacity. Furthermore, upon receiving the letter of award, the winning bidder must furnish a performance bank guarantee equivalent to ?500,000 (around $6,007) per MW of the allocated capacity within 30 days.

This initiative underscores the commitment of Madhya Pradesh towards expanding its renewable energy infrastructure and aligning with India's broader goals of sustainable and clean energy production. The PM KUSUM program represents a significant step in this direction, contributing to the state's efforts to harness solar power and reduce its carbon footprint.
