The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL) has announced the commencement of the construction of a new pedestrian bridge over the Bengaluru-Mysuru National Highway near Challaghatta station. The project, scheduled to be completed by the end of September, aims at enhancing connectivity and safety for both metro commuters and pedestrians.
According to a senior BMRCL official, the bridge is being constructed at a cost of Rs 20.22 million and will incorporate stairs and lifts to cater to all types of users. The official stated that this infrastructure will significantly improve safety and convenience for travellers to and from the station, particularly students and pedestrians.
BMRCL officials have announced plans to construct a 100-meter footpath alongside the bridge. This footpath will link the bridge to the side where the metro station is located.
