NHAI to Deploy 125 Cameras on Dwarka Expressway for Enhanced Surveillance

01 Mar 2024

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has unveiled a project to install 125 cameras along the Dwarka Expressway, encompassing both Delhi and Gurugram roads, to bolster surveillance and traffic management. This initiative aims to enhance safety and efficiency on one of the region's busiest thoroughfares.

The deployment of advanced camera systems on the Dwarka Expressway represents a proactive step by NHAI to leverage technology for improving road safety and traffic regulation. The cameras will be strategically placed to monitor traffic flow, identify violations, and facilitate swift responses to incidents or emergencies.

The comprehensive surveillance network, equipped with state-of-the-art Closed-Loop Television (CCTV) technology, will enable real-time monitoring and data collection for effective traffic management. This will empower authorities to enforce traffic regulations, deter reckless driving behaviours, and ensure smoother traffic flow on the expressway.

The initiative aligns with NHAI's broader mission to modernise transportation infrastructure and enhance road safety across the country. By leveraging advanced camera systems and digital surveillance tools, NHAI aims to create safer and more efficient travel experiences for commuters and travellers on the Dwarka Expressway.

As NHAI moves forward with the implementation of this surveillance project, stakeholders anticipate significant improvements in traffic management and safety on the Dwarka Expressway. The enhanced surveillance capabilities provided by the camera network will play a crucial role in ensuring smoother traffic flow and reducing congestion on this vital arterial road.
