01 Aug 2023

NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam (NVVN), a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTPC, is seeking bids from engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractors to develop both floating and ground-mounted solar power projects with a capacity of up to 10 MW.

The enlistment will be valid for one year, and if required, it can be extended for an additional year. The deadline to submit bids is August 21, 2023, and bids will be opened on the following day.

To be eligible, bidders must have experience in developing, designing, erecting, commissioning, or supervising EPC activities for grid-connected solar power projects with a cumulative capacity of 800 kW or more. Among these projects, at least one must have a capacity of 100 kW or higher and have been in operation for at least six months before the bid opening date.

Alternatively, bidders can qualify if they have executed an industrial project in power, steel, oil and gas, petrochemical, fertiliser, cement, coal mining, or any other process industry, with a minimum value of Rs 40 million (~$486,333) for a single project that has been successfully operating for at least one year before the bid opening.

Furthermore, bidders must have experience in executing at least one electrical substation with a voltage level of 33 kV or above, which includes equipment like 33 kV or above voltage level circuit breakers and power transformers. This substation should have been operating successfully for at least one year before the bid opening.

Recently, NVVN invited bids from enlisted developers for setting up a 1.5 MW grid-connected solar power project at IIM Bodh Gaya.

In a separate development, NTPC Renewable Energy, another wholly-owned subsidiary of NTPC, has reissued a tender for supplying battery energy storage systems for solar power projects at the Khavda Renewable Energy Park in the Kutch region of Gujarat. This tender was previously issued in November of the previous year.
