Patna Metro PT-08R Retender: Progress resumes on track-work contract

In July, there was a re-tender for the small contract of Package PT-08 in the Patna Metro project. But there has been no progress on it since then. During July, when Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) initiated the technical bid opening process, four companies submitted their bids for the standard gauge ballasted track-work contract, now known as PT-08R, which is part of the New ISBT Depot in the Patna Metro Phase 1 project. This package also includes the procurement of 1200 MT 90 UTS, UIC 60, 13 m Class A 880 grade rails. The New ISBT Depot will serve as the facility for the maintenance and storage of trains for both lines in the project, covering a total of 30.91 km.

In July 2021, KEC International emerged as the lowest bidder for this package. However, DMRC cancelled the tender in March 2022, citing vague "administrative reasons."

Subsequently, DMRC reissued the invitation for bids for PT-08 (now referred to as PT-08R) in June 2023. The estimated value of the contract is Rs 193.4 million, and the completion deadline is set at 450 days, equivalent to 1.2 years.

Brief Scope: The scope of this contract involves the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of standard gauge track work, including ballasted, embedded, and column lines, at the New ISBT Depot for the Patna Metro Rail Project under the purview of PMRCL.
