Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport's Terminal 2 was officially opened by the prime minister, Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Prime Minister also spoke with airport officials, who gave him a briefing on the Terminal 2 building's model. Along with touring Terminal 2 of the Kempegowda International Airport, the Prime Minister also looked over the experience center's amenities. He also saw a brief documentary regarding Terminal 2.

The construction of Bengaluru's Terminal 2 at Kempegowda International Airport cost around Rs 50 billion. From the current capacity of roughly 2.5 crores, the terminal will increase the airport's ability to handle 5–6 crore passengers annually.

The passenger experience at Terminal 2 is envisioned to be like taking a "walk in the garden," paying homage to Bengaluru's Garden City. More than 10,000 sq m of green walls, hanging gardens, and outdoor gardens will be passed through by passengers. The Airport has already set a standard for sustainability thanks to its campus-wide use of 100 per cent renewable energy. The design of Terminal 2 incorporates sustainability principles throughout.
