The Pune-Mumbai Expressway is set to undergo a brief closure for a duration of two hours, from noon to 2pm on Tuesday, to facilitate the installation of gantries at two key locations near the Amrutanjan bridge and the Khandala tunnel. This development was confirmed by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC).

Once the installation work is completed, regular traffic movement on the expressway will be resumed, according to an official statement from MSRDC.

Lata Phad, Superintendent of Police, Highway Safety Patrol (Pune), provided further details, explaining that the MSRDC officials are installing gantries for the Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS) in the Bor Ghat section of the Pune-Mumbai Expressway on Tuesday. She emphasized that in order to facilitate this crucial installation project, vehicular movement will not be permitted on the expressway between noon and 2pm on Tuesday.

This temporary closure is part of ongoing efforts to enhance the expressway's infrastructure and implement advanced traffic management systems for the benefit of commuters.
