Rs.23.78 bn nod for frontier highway in Arunachal Pradesh

Nitin Gadkari, Minister, Road Transport and Highways, said Rs.23.78 billion for construction of two sections of frontier highway with a total length of 93 km in Arunachal Pradesh has been sanctioned. The development of road infrastructure aims at strengthening connectivity to border areas and fostering socio-economic growth in the region. Sharing the information on X, he said that in Arunachal Pradesh, an allocation of Rs.20.98 billion has been sanctioned for construction of the Bomdila-Nafra-Lada Section covering 78.3 km and `2.79 billion for the 15.4 km-long Lada-Sarli section (Package 7) of NH-913 (Frontier Highway) on an EPC mode. 

Foundation stone laid for multiple projects of Rs.116 billion in Guwahati
PMc Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for projects worth Rs.116 billion in Guwahati. Launching the development projects, he said they will boost connectivity in the region while also increasing avenues of employment for locals and encouraging them to take up sports. Among the key projects for which the foundation stone was laid by the PM includes Maa Kamakhya Divya Pariyojana (Maa Kamakhya Access Corridor), which has been sanctioned under the PM's Development Initiative for North Eastern Region (PM-DevINE) scheme.

Gujarat unveils plans for three new airports to boost connectivity 
To promote tourism and upgrade infrastructure, Gujarat has announced plans for three new airports, including one near the iconic Statue of Unity in Kevadia. This move follows the success of the Statue of Unity, which has attracted over 10 million tourists since its inauguration. However, the expansion plans extend beyond Kevadia. Airports are also slated for Ferkuwa and Surova in Tilakwada, along with Siddhapur and Vadnagar. Preliminary feasibility studies are underway in these locations, setting the stage for improved connectivity and enhanced tourism prospects. This initiative is a direct outcome of the overwhelming success of the Statue of Unity.

Bhuntar Airport in Himachal gets forest clearance for expansion
The forest clearance (FCA) for Himachal's Bhuntar airport has been received thus paving the way for its expansion, said Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu. The airport will soon be widened enabling bigger aircrafts to land thus increasing the footfall of tourists and facilitating the locals as well. Besides, the airport will meet the required regulatory standards of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and further enhance extra safety measures. He added that this airport plays a key role to boost tourism activities in Kullu and Lahaul as it draws a significant number of tourists to explore nature's splendour, richness of culture and traditions besides the religious sites. He said that direct flights linking Amritsar to Kullu were also operational. 

Bengaluru AC double-decker bus service to start on three routes
To address the mounting rush on its city roads, the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) is set to reintroduce iconic double-decker buses. The double-decker buses, absent from Bangalore roads since 1997 are making a comeback to alleviate the city's congestion, ranked among the top 10 congested cities globally. However, concerns arise over low-height gantries and other structures, making deployment of double-decker buses unfeasible. Unlike ordinary electric buses with 33-40 seats, each double-decker can ferry around 65 passengers.

Highway projects worth Rs.23.67 billion for Jabalpur
Nitin Gadkari, Minister, Road Transport and Highways, inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for nine national highway projects worth Rs.23.67 billion covering a total length of 225 km in Madhya Pradesh's Jabalpur district. He said the projects that were inaugurated include a 1.5 km long bridge on Jamni river on Tikamgarh-Jhansi road at a cost of Rs.430 million. He said that construction of a road with a two-lane paved shoulder from Chandia Ghat to Katni Bypass will bring a qualitative change in connectivity to the coal
mines of Katni.

Centre sanctionsRs.17.42 billion for four-lane highway in Mizoram
Nitin Gadkari, Minister, Road Transport and Highways, has approved an outlay of Rs.17.42 billion for construction of the four-lane N Kawnpui (N Mualvum) - Sairang section on NH-6, situated along the Silchar -Valrengte - Sairang road in the Aizawl and Kolasib districts in Mizoram. In a social media post, the minister said this 24.41 km project will be executed under the EPC mode. He said the envisioned road infrastructure aims to facilitate uninterrupted traffic flow circumventing interference from local traffic in developed areas. This initiative seeks to alleviate congestion in the urban zones, thereby augmenting road safety within these built-up areas.

Odisha Projects worth Rs.680 billion unveiled
Development projects worth over Rs.680 billion aimed at boosting the energy sector involving natural gas, coal and power generation apart from important projects of road, railway and higher education sector in Odisha were unveiled by PM Narendra Modi. The Prime Minister said that it is a significant occasion for the development journey of Odisha as development projects of over Rs.680 billion were launched in the sectors of education, railway, roads, electricity and petroleum. He underlined that people of Odisha across all sections will reap the benefits of these development projects.

PM launches projects of Rs.267.5 billion in Rajasthan and Haryana
Multiple development projects worth over Rs.267.5 billion in Rajasthan and Haryana were launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He laid the foundation stone of development projects of over Rs.170 billion in Rajasthan via video conference and addressed the 'Viksit Bharat Viksit Rajasthan' programme. He visited Rewari in Haryana and laid the foundation stone of multiple development projects worth over `97.5 billion concerning urban transport, health, rail and tourism sectors. He inaugurated various national highway projects worth over `50 billion in Rajasthan besides three stretches of eight-lane Delhi-Mumbai Green field Alignment (NE-4). Besides other highway projects, he inaugurated eight railway projects of Rajasthan.

Development projects worth Rs.191 billion inaugurated for Bulandshahr
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development projects worth over Rs.191 billion in Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh. The projects are related to several sectors like rail, road, oil and gas and urban development and housing. The Prime Minister dedicated a 173 km long double line electrified section between New Khurja - New Rewari on the dedicated freight corridor. He dedicated the fourth line connecting the Mathura-Palwal section and the Chipiyana Buzurg-Dadri section. He inaugurated Indian Oil's Tundla-Gawaria Pipeline and dedicated Integrated Industrial Township at Greater Noida (IITGN). He inaugurated the renovated Mathura sewerage scheme.
