The South Central Railway (SCR) Zone marked a significant achievement in infrastructural development by completing and commissioning a 20.3 km-long electrified third line between Karavadi and Surareddipalem in Andhra Pradesh. The recently finished section in the Prakasam district is part of the Vijayawada-Gudur tripling and electrification project, representing a notable progress in railway infrastructure in the southern state.

According to an SCR Zone official, the tripling of this stretch results in a continuous 81 km third line between Bapatla and Surareddipalem, thereby enhancing railway connectivity and efficiency.

Emphasizing the importance of this development, the official highlights that the Vijayawada-Gudur route serves as a crucial link between the northern, eastern, and southern regions of India. This plays a pivotal role in the transportation network, contributing to improved connectivity and efficiency.

Additionally, it was announced by Ashwini Vaishnaw that the Puri to Ayodhya special train service is set to connect spiritual hubs, further expanding the reach and accessibility of the railway network.
