Systra & Rites Ltd will finalise the DPR for Phase I of the metro rail

The Tamil Nadu government has approved the feasibility study for the Coimbatore mass rapid transit system.

The detailed project report (DPR) for Phase-I of the project is under finalisation by Systra and Rites Limited.

Recently, a stakeholder’s meeting was hosted, where the principal secretary and managing director of Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL), Pradeep Yadav, headed the meeting.

In the meeting, he explained to the stakeholders the detailed presentation of the proposed Coimbatore metro rail facility on the different lines to be created across the district.

Overall, 139 km of the metro rail will be taken up in three phases by CMRL. Phase-I will be constructed for a 44 km distance on Avinashi road until Karumathampatty road and Sathyamangalam road until Valiampalayam Pirivu from Ukkadam in south Coimbatore.

District collector Dr G S Sameeran, city corporation commissioner Raja Gopal Sunkara, other officials and representatives from the special initiative department of CMRL, office bearers of Integrated Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Coimbatore (ICCI-C), Codissia, Siema, Residents Awareness Association of Coimbatore (RAAC), Confederation of Real Estate Developers Associations of India (CREDAI), were present in the meeting.
