Wind-solar hybrid projects connected to ISTS are up for bid by SECI

01 Nov 2022

In order to build 1,200 MW of wind-solar hybrid power projects (Tranche-VI) with energy storage connected to the interstate transmission system (ISTS) across India, the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has issued an invitation for bids.

The deadline for bid submissions is December 12, 2022. The day of the bid opening is December 15.

Each project should have a minimum of 50 MW. A bidder would only be given a total capacity allocation of 1,200 MW. The project must include the deployment of an energy storage system with a minimum 100 MWh capacity for every 100 MW of project capacity.

Within 24 months of the PPA's start date, the projects must be launched.

The hybrid projects must be built to connect to the central transmission utility's transmission network at a voltage of 220 kV or higher.
