ACC to set up Rs 1,500 crore cement plant in Maharashtra

ACC will set up a mega cement project with an estimated annual production capacity of 3 mn tonne at Ghughus in the Chandrapur district. The company has inked a memorandum of understanding with the state government in this regard. The plant entails an outlay of Rs 1,500 crore. The plant is scheduled for completion in the third quarter of 2010. There will also be a 25 MW captive power plant to cater to the project's power requirement. The company is setting up the project in the backward area of the district, thereby supporting the government's objective of achieving a balanced growth. The proposed cement plant will be an environmental plant with the central control room to be designed as a green building.
