After rolling out a slew of projects and services, former chief minister of Tamil Nadu, Jayalalithaa announced the launch of subsidised Amma Cement to help the low and middle income families, that were affected by a steep rise in cement prices. Now, a 50 kg Amma Cement bag will be sold at Rs 190. The scheme is valid only for the construction of houses ranging from 100 sq ft to 1,500 sq ft. One can buy a maximum of 750 bags under this scheme.
