CONSTRUCTION WORLD Person of the Year 2019 Private Sector

31 Dec 2019

Chinta Sridhar, Managing Director, Navayuga Engineering Company

He’s proof that commitment and perseverance are the keys to success. Hailing from a simple business family in Krishna district in Andhra Pradesh, 50-year-old Chinta Sridhar, Managing Director, Navayuga Engineering Company, is now a leading light in the construction and infrastructure fraternity.

After completing his degree in mechanical engineering and MBA, Sridhar joined the family-run Navayuga Group — a pioneer in construction and infrastructure development in India — in 1995 as a site engineer. Rising through the ranks over the next decade and a half, he assumed the position of managing director of Navayuga Engineering Company in 2010 through sheer merit, hard work and outstanding performance.

Through his unmatched domain knowledge, expertise and leadership style, he went on to grow the company’s turnover from `20 billion to `60 billion on a standalone basis and expanded the group’s activities in international markets, with a stronger presence in Qatar. Further, he successfully drove the company to set international benchmarks — by pouring 32,315.5 cu m of concrete in 24 hours, Navayuga clinched two Guinness World Records: One for the most concrete continuously poured in 24 hours, and second for the largest continuous concrete pour.

Indeed, Sridhar is on a mission to make Navayuga a global construction and infrastructure icon. It is this relentless pursuit of excellence that makes him our choice for the CONSTRUCTION WORLD Person of the Year 2019 in the Private Sector.

We honour him for his acumen and wish him continued success and many more firsts in the years to come.
