Adampur in Punjab to have new domestic airport

In Punjab's Adampur, a new domestic airport would be established to facilitate the Doaba region, especially NRIs. This was announced by the State Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal on November 8 after laying foundation stones of various development works in Jalandhar worth Rs 50 crore. Punjab government has prepared the blueprint for the new domestic airport at Adampur, the Minister said and he is in constant touch with the Union Ministry for Civil Aviation for all kinds of necessary approvals. Badal stated that the new airport would prove a boon for the whole region as it would facilitate businessmen and traders as well as NRIs of Doaba region.
