Trial run for Hyderabad Metro to commence after Oct 15

The Hyderabad Metro Rail, which is set to open at the end of November this year, will reportedly begin its trial runs after October 15, as soon as the rail works are completed.

According to reports, the rail work in the Miyapur-Ameerpet stretch in the NVS Reddy Corridor-I and Ameerpet-Nagole stretch of Corridor-III is ongoing as per the plan, and will be completed by October 15 in time for the trial runs to commence. An official release also mentions that the commissioner of metro rail safety may also be invited in the first week of November in order to provide a certification of safety for Hyderabad metro. Board Chairman SP Singh presided over a review meeting for the same, in which he reportedly emphasised on the construction of toilet facilities, bus bays and electric vehicle charging facilities. As per reports, he also praised the initiative for common smart card and ticket facility for Hyderabad metro, MMTS, bus and other transportation.
