Under the leadership of its Managing Director Rajesh Adani, Adani Power’s project in Jharkhand has become India’s first power project to get the status and benefits of a SEZ. The Rs 140-billion project, which will be exporting the entire power generated to Bangladesh, has been approved by the highest decision-making body on SEZ Board of Approval. With an aim to develop its business relationships, the company has, under Adani's guidance, sought approval for setting up sector specific SEZs for power at Motia, Mali, Gaighat and adjacent villages in Godda district, Jharkhand.
